BSL STUPIDITY!!!

Did you know, that there are 75 breeds or " look-a-likes" that are banned or restricted somewhere in North America? Most people don't even know their breed is on the list. Did you know in some places they are trying to get a weight law? It has been proven that certain dogs are no more dangerous then any other dog. Humans have got to take responsiblity for their own actions. People do not educate their children around any dogs. They don't teach them the proper way to interact with dogs. You also have irresponsible dog owners. They don't train or treat the dogs properly. You have people who abuse their dogs. Train them to fight or be mean. They are beaten into submission. Dogs are not naturally aggressive. They have to be trained that way.
Dogs have been mis-identified over and over to be the dog that attacked / bit etc. When it turned out to be a breed of the so-called " friendly" type. Dogs of the "pittie" type dogs like the American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pitbull Terrier , Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Cane Corso , Presa De Canario and other breeds are mis-identified all the time. Tell me, would you like to be killed / banned for being mis-identified for something you haven't done? I know I hate being blamed for something someone else did. Would you like to be killed or banned because someone of you race / religion did something? I know I wouldn't. Would you want to be killed or banned because someone in you family tree did something? Why should I be held accountable for something I have no control over?
Why is it that a dog of a perceived " friendly" breed able to go back home after mauling someone because " it never did anything like that before" and that breed is not held accountable either? Why is there different laws? A so called "friendly" breed not long ago ripped the nose off a child and that dog was returned that night to the owners ( who happens to be the parents of that child ) or the one who almost ripped the hand off the arm of a child? That dog got to go home also. There are many many accounts of these attacks ( for whatever reason ) and able to go home. Meanwhile the BSL breeds are KILLED all the time for as little as scratching someone. How is this right?
I have ROTTWEILERS and people believe that these dogs are mean and bred to be fighters and attack dogs. When they are not. They are a working breed. They are hearding dogs for cattle and was used to protect the farmer going to and from the market from theives.
Yes, some dogs of any breed will and have attacked / mauled and bitten people. Does that mean ALL dogs of any given breed should be exterminated? Why? My dogs have never done anything to anyone except sit on their feet. There is no such thing as a bad breed. All dogs have their likes and dislikes. No different then humans. The difference is, we as humans have a voice and has the choice to keep away from people we don't like or trust. We as humans have the brain to reason right and wrong. Why is it, when humans are treated wrongly as a child or whatever it is made to be "ok" to do things to others? If an animal fights back with a natural instinct with a similar incident, they are killed? Humans are suppose to be the most intelligent species but we hold a so called " dumb" animal on a highter level and expect more from them.
No dog bite / attack that happens without reason is right. If we as humans are going to be judge and jury, we have to know all the true facts of why something happens. It has been proven that most attacks are from dogs that are being mis-treated. Either by the owners / children etc. They are tied outside and left to defend themselves in whatever happens. They are not socialized / trained / fed etc. Dogs are social animals. They thrive on human contact, proper socialization/training etc. Why can't humans see that? I am sick and tired of all breeds being condeemed for a few of any breed. If your ROTTWEILER did something, why should mine be banned / killed? Just like if mine did something, your dog shouldn't pay the price. There are more responsible owners then not. Why not go after the irresponsible ones? Why should an innocent dog be punished because of the owner? A dog is alot like a child in thinking. Even the parents are responsible for a child's actions until they are of legal age to be considered an adult. So why isn't the owner of a dog held more accountable?
